Managing Principal, Founder and Chief Investment Officer. Prior to founding Accumulus Capital Management in 2001, Mr. Schliemann spent 10 years as Vice President & Partner of Hanseatic Corporation, New York and Hamburg, an alternative investment management firm. At Hanseatic he established a family office operation, advised on asset allocation, and analyzed, executed and monitored investments. From 1990-1991 Mr. Schliemann was an Associate with M.M. Warburg & Co. in Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Luxembourg. From 1994 – 2001 he served as the New York Representative of M.M.Warburg & Co. In 1996 Mr. Schliemann was the seed investor in Pharmaceutical Partners LLC and joined its Advisory Board; In 1999 Pharmaceutical Partners became Royalty Pharma AG and Mr. Schliemann served as Chairman of the board until 2003. Mr. Schliemann also co-founded Pharmakon Advisors LP in 2009 and is one of its three principals, together with Messrs.’ Legorreta and Gonzalez de Cosio. Mr. Schliemann received a B.A. (Honours) and M.A. in Modern History from Oxford University.
Chief Operating Officer and Portfolio Manager of the Investment Manager. Prior to joining Accumulus Capital Management on October 1, 2016 , Mr. Zellmer was a Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at Burnham Asset Management Corp and a Senior Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Revere Wealth Management LLC. He previously was Chief Investment Officer at Uhuru Capital Management, a fund of hedge funds firm focused on investments in emerging and smaller hedge funds. Before joining Uhuru, Mr. Zellmer was a Managing Director and Global Head of Research at UBP Alternative Investments and co-Head of Research and a member of the investment committee at Arden Asset Management. Mr. Zellmer began his career at Morgan Stanley in 1995 where he was a Vice President, working in the Prime Brokerage and Asset Management divisions. Mr. Zellmer earned an MBA in Finance with distinction from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a BA in Operations Research from the Universitaet Hohenheim in Germany.
Director of Research. Andrew joined the firm in 2016. Mr. Sassoon has spent over a decade focusing on asset management and alternative investments. Prior to joining Accumulus Capital Management, Andrew was a research analyst for AC Investment Management, a New York-based fund of hedge funds with assets under management in excess of $600M. Before moving to New York in 2013, Andrew acted as Managing Director for a Swiss based family office that he helped set up, develop, and manage. His mandates ranged from sourcing new investment opportunities to risk management, as well as implementing new positions within a portfolio primarily concentrated on alternative assets. Within that same universe Andrew has taken several active roles which included advising management companies on best pratices as well as helping and coordinating the research effort of a network of family offices. Andrew holds a double B.A Major in Politics & International and Global Studies from Brandeis University.
Gregory S. Levine
General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Served as legal counsel to the Firm since 2008 and as its General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer since 2012. Mr. Levine is responsible for managing legal and regulatory compliance matters. He is an attorney with broad corporate and securities experience as counsel to investment advisers, private funds and corporate financial advisory firms. He provides the firm with general corporate counsel and serves as the firm’s chief compliance officer. Mr. Levine holds a bachelor degree from Tulane University (1984) and a juris doctor degree from Tulane University School of Law (1989).
Controller. John has been in charge of fund accounting at Accumulus since inception in 2001. A CPA with over 40 years of experience, he started his career with Price Waterhouse where he worked for over ten years. He then worked in several roles involving mutual fund accounting, first at Phoenix Home Life Insurance Company and later at Signature Financial Group and Lindner Asset Management. Mr. Elder received a BA from Coe College and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.
Senior Operations Analyst. Daniel joined the firm in 2016. He previously worked in OTC derivative operations at Morgan Stanley. Daniel received a BBA degree (with distinction) from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School in 2010. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society, which recognizes business students in the top 10% of their graduating class. He has completed level 1 of the CFA program.
Office Manager. Dawn joined the firm in 2004 and is responsible for all the back office operations of the firm. Dawn has over 20 years of experience as an executive assistant. She attended the Executive Secretarial Program at The Berkeley School in New Jersey.
